It's Been Over a Week

....... I haven't "blooped" for a while and don't want to catch up :)
Things have been working out really good for Dorian, I am feeling a lot better about everything so that's awesome and I am so happy relieved. I've been told by so many that it is actually quite common that some children don't even talk until 3 1/2 - 4 years old and when they do it is in complete sentences so that is hopeful (and it seem to run on both sides of our family). He is still going to do the First Steps program to help him along, and the 4C play & learn group sessions 3 times a week to help socialize him and get him comfortable with strangers and others.
I've kept up on my runs for the most part, but I don't fret if I miss a planned run or two (though with all this holiday junk food I do tend to fret about the calories I should be burning). My long runs seem to be comfortably around 12 miles, and my mid long runs have been between 8 and 9 miles.
The only worry or concern is my calves.... or my ankles or whatever it is, but it's kind of everywhere down there. My calves have been feeling tight for the last 2 weeks or so, then my ankles or whatever hurt a little but only for the first couple miles of a run so I am not sure what it is. I am just trying to ice everything, foam roll and wear my compression socks after my runs. I am just going to keep doing those things as much as possible, it comes and goes so I am not sure if it will go away eventually with enough icing, foam rolling, stretching and compression but if things don't get better soon then I'll have to take a few days off which is upsetting to think about while it's still the holidays....
I've got a list of races planned for 2015 (as long as this aggravated issue goes away...), even though it sucks that I am not running the LBL marathon in March, it does open up room for other races and more half marathons rather than being stuck in marathon training.

  • Hearts on Fire 5k - Evansville, IN - February 14
  • Run of Luck 7k - Evansville, IN - March 14
  • Kentucky Derby Half Marathon - Louisville, KY - April 25
  • Backside Trail Half Marathon - Louisville, KY - April 26
  • Owensboro Memorial Day Half Marathon - Owensboro, KY - May 23
  • Harmonie Trail Half Marathon - New Harmony IN - May 30
  • Evansville Half Marathon - Evansville, IN - October 3
  • Indianapolis Monumental Marathon - Indianapolis, IN - November 7
The back to back half marathons will definitely require a little more focus on training starting in February, the weekends having back to back runs to help me adapt to the fatigue.
The most important race of the year 2015 will be the Monumental, the training will be called MONUMENTAL REDEMPTION and the training is going to prepare me for anything (hopefully). Hopefully I'll be ready to up my weekly mileage to near 60 with at least two of the 6 days having 2 runs - one in the morning and one in the afternoon with Dorian.
